Anthony Pickup

Anthony, a Principal Consultant, has particular experience in the design and implementation of new consumer payment and security products by the international payment schemes, telecommunication providers, financial institutions, retailers and their vendors. His key successes have been with clients such as :-

  • HSBC UK, where Anthony analysed the retail bank’s payment card capabilities, prior to defining a mobile contactless (NFC-enabled) payment roadmap for the card payment team. The roadmap reflected the drivers and barriers in the local market and HSBC’s current and emerging card production capabilities.
  • Royal Bank of Scotland, where Anthony acted as the technical architect to RBS’ Innovation Team, helping them to refine their strategy towards the emerging NFC (Mobile Contactless) market place, design and implement a number of internal and external trials.� Subsequently, Anthony was part of the Consult Hyperion team which analysed, for RBS Mobile team, competitive activity within the Global Mobile Commerce and Payment markets, identifying a number of key markets and services which RBS should focus on.�
  • PayPal, where Anthony reviewed the opportunities for the PSP within the emerging NFC market place in Europe, North America and ASPAC. �
  • Transport for London (TfL), where Anthony was part of the Consult Hyperion team supporting the development of TfL’s Future Ticketing Strategy, in particular the acceptance of contactless payment cards at the Transit Gate.�
  • Natural Security, where Anthony led the Consult Hyperion team which analysed the information security risks associated with an innovative new proximity based payment service which uses biometrics to authenticate the cardholder. �
