[Dave Birch] The first money appears to have been shells coloured with red ochre. These appear 100,000 years ago in Africa. Are we now in the days of the last (physical) money? APACS report that in 2004 cards overtook cash by value and that in 2014 they will overtake them in volume. That’s if anyone is still using cards by then: I’ll be using my phone to buy packs of gum.
